Holistic Development

Formational learning focuses on the whole person: physical, intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional. It involves and impacts a student's head, heart, and hands.

Structured Literacy

Structured Literacy encapsulates our bold vision to make sure that by 2028, every students that has been with us since Year 7, leaves our school functionally literate.

Community Engagement

NCS is a community of parents, students and staff, working together to raise the next generations of children. We want students to be comfortable interacting with and serving each other and the wider community.

Global Awareness

This world belongs to Jesus and He has made it to reflect His power and majesty. We seek to celebrate this by encouraging students to love the people and places that God has made.

Health and Wellbeing

Each of us is a unique human being, created and loved by God. Each of us brings who we are to our classrooms - our personality, heritage, life experience, expressions of faith and qualities that make us who we are. We seek to help every child grow into who God has made them to be.

Spiritual Formation

Christian education has a central and clear intention to contribute to students forming vibrant, living and active faiths. Our deep hope is that we will see our students as precious image-bearers of God, with distinctive gifts and full of potential for learning, faith, and being responsive disciples of the Lord Jesus both now and in the future.

How does NCS integrate Christian values into education?

NCS's teachers introduce Biblical values and ethics in all classes as they implement the Australian Curriculum. Daily School life includes devotions and prayer, as well as Bible Studies. Structured literacy employs systematic and explicit instruction that integrates listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It addresses all the essential components that are highlighted in the word recognition and language comprehension.

NCS has been at the forefront of implementing the Orton Gillingham approach to Structured Literacy that provides a framework to include both the principles (how we should teach) and the elements (what we should teach). We are committed to improving the literacy of all out students so they are well prepared for achieving their best after school.
