Discover the Engaging Pre-Kinder Curriculum at Newstead Christian School

The sessions are run by our Kindergarten teacher. Parents/guardians accompany their child throughout the session engaging with them in the various activities set up around the room. A time will be provided towards the end of each session for them to sit and chat with their newfound friends whilst they enjoy their morning tea.

Structure

Pre-Kinder sessions provide a great opportunity to familiarise the children with Kindergarten.

Building Strong Foundations for Literacy and Numeracy in Pre-Kinder

Newstead Christian School is implementing the Early Learning Years Framework. Children explore their world through the themes of "Belonging, Being and Becoming.”

Literacy

Letters and Sounds are introduced in Kindergarten and continues through to Grade 2.

Numeracy

Through hands-on activities and play-based learning, we foster a love for numbers and problem-solving.

Discover Our Pre-Kinder Program at NCS

Narelle Preece, our Kindergarten teacher runs Pre-Kinder, held in the Kindergarten room every Thursday morning, 9 am - 11 am during school terms until the end of the year.

It provides an opportunity for the children, the Kindergarten teacher and Teacher's assistant to connect and get to know each other with the hope of making a smoother transition into school next year.
